Who we are

What data we collect
- Google Sign-In data: email address, display name, and profile picture — provided by Google when you sign in.
- Scoring data: your custom scoring prompt, CV text (if uploaded), and per-job scores generated for your account.
- Subscription data: payment status and Stripe subscription ID. We do not store credit card details — Stripe handles all payment processing.
- Anonymous analytics: page views, tab switches, and button clicks with a random visitor ID stored in your browser's localStorage. This is not linked to your identity unless you sign in.
Why we collect it
- Google Sign-In data: to authenticate you and display your profile.
- Scoring data: to score job listings against your personal criteria.
- Subscription data: to manage your paid subscription.
- Analytics: to understand how the product is used and improve it.
Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6)
- Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): processing your scoring prompt and generating scores is necessary to provide the service you subscribed to.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): anonymous analytics to improve the product.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): signing in with Google and uploading your CV are voluntary actions.
Where data is stored
Your data is stored in AWS DynamoDB in the EU (Ireland, eu-west-1). Scoring requests are processed by Google's Gemini API (data sent to Google for processing, not stored by Google beyond the request). Payments are processed by Stripe (Ireland).
How long we keep it
- Account data: until you delete your account.
- Scores: until you delete your account.
- Analytics events: indefinitely (anonymous, no personal data).
- Stripe data: retained by Stripe per their privacy policy.
Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your data — contact us and we'll provide a copy.
- Delete your account and all associated data — contact us at hello@jobranker.io or use the account deletion feature when available.
- Rectify inaccurate data.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Lodge a complaint with the Sächsischer Datenschutzbeauftragter (Saxon Data Protection Authority).
Cookies and tracking
We do not use cookies. We store a random visitor ID in your browser's localStorage for anonymous analytics. You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser's site data. Stripe may set its own cookies for payment processing — see Stripe's privacy policy.
